2024 BAFTA Awards: Saltburn, Barbie and Oppenheimer get nominations

The nominees for the 2024 BAFTA Awards have been announced, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer leading the charge with 13 nominations as expected.

David Tennant will host this year’s awards ceremony. The 77th BAFTA Film Awards ceremony, set to take place Sunday, February 18, at London’s Royal Festival Hall, which serves as the ceremony’s venue for the second year in a row after several years at Royal Albert Hall and will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

This year no male British actors were included in a BAFTA film nomination for the first time in nearly 50 years. Oppenheimer dominated as the frontrunner for this year with 13 nominations including Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Actor.

Margot Robbie has been nominated for Best Actress for Barbie, which was the highest-grossing movie of 2023, while the movie also picked up nominations for Best Original Screenplay, Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design.
